Looooved Ali’s Versace campaign when she was with Millie’s Models. Such a perfect fit for that serious serving of 90’s house she was giving us.

Dazzler was asked to contribute a song for The [insert favorite charity here] Foundation. While writing the lyrics, she noticed that it could possibly work as a duet. She took a break to ponder the idea and was surfing through the TV when she came across a performance by [insert favorite girl group here] and “Eurethra!”, inspirational gold. But who would she ask? She thought about the friends she’d made in the industry but she wasn’t in the mood to deal with divatudes over who sang what part, dealing with conflicting contracts and trying to remember who hated who.
She was about to give Lila Cheney a call but remembered she was on the European leg of her “Cat’s Still Laughing” tour and furthermore, the song was now going to be a sexy girl-power dance banger… Not exactly Lila’s style. Ali decided to head back into the studio. About to give up on the silly concept, she caught glimpse of a photo on the wall of her and her teammates from the X-Men’s Outback days. That was all she needed.
She knew Storm would be the toughest sell - despite knowing she would secretly enjoy it the most - but she could actually sing and that would help take the song beyond a simple gimmick. Psylocke, well, she had to do it; The Best Friend Code of Conduct dictates it. Besides, Betts actually had a lovely voice and the former model/eternal exhibitionist would love every minute of it. As for Rogue… Well, Ali shuddered at the sounds that might come out of her mouth were she to try and sing but she’d give her the smallest part and hey, that is what auto-tune was created for. She knew Rogue would have fun and Ali wanted her to be a part of it. They hadn’t spent any significant together in so long and what would a Girls of The Outback Reunion be without her?
… and that’s the story I use to justify my goofy obsessions and “logically” turn the X-Women into the World’s Greatest Girl Group to only put out one song. *sigh* If only I had studied animation.

Also, Happy 2nd Birthiversary to Fuck Yeah Alison Blaire! Here’s to many, many more!
The retro trips were far out and the country dalliance was a hoot but we need our Dancing Queen back for a bit.
I’m sure this dose of dreamy trance will wind your Monday down nicely… After the dancing, oc.

As established by those with ears, Alison can sing anything… and it often feels like she aims to prove it. Sure, even her most devoted Glitterati twitched at the idea of her goin’ country but damned if she doesn’t make it palatable for all. How can you go wrong with a cover of “Jolene”?
It also helps that these are just demos she did for fun with session artists. Heh.
… Shame it didn’t work out with her and guitarist Johnny Ito. He was kinda hot.
A vault two-fer this week!
Much like with “Dancing On My Own”, discovering that one of the greatest Dazzler analogues had yet to contribute here was baffling… Keep us on our toes, people!
HAPPY FRIDAY!
Just know that if I ever take an exorbitant amount of time in replying to ya’lls asks/requests, it is Tumblr’s fault. 100%. Always.
… Unless you’re an icky suckwad trolling under an Anon. Then that’s all me.
Been awhile since we dipped into the vaults and shame on us for that! There’s just so much gold to mine from her discography!
